1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

We have made our film an Action/Horror genre. As we looked at a few different openings such as Zombieland, Shaun of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Sorority Row and Adulthood, it is clear to see the comparisons and simularities.






We looked at zombieland for the camerawork as we thought there would be alot of shots showing the zombie's costumes, make-up, facial expressions and movements. We looked at shaun of the dead because it is a comedy we thought the sounds would be dramatic and because we do not have top quality camera's we thought it would be better to use dramatic sounds so it is clear. Also in Shaun of the Dead it is set in a city, and as we are located in a town we thought we could use idea's from this film of how they have used inner city locations. We looked at Dawn of the dead because of the editing, the opening of this film uses fast cuts showing the dramatic state of the film.
